La Morte
¿Dónde estás? ¿Por qué te fuiste? ¿Da miedo estar dónde estás? ¿Nos volveremos a encontrar? ¿Qué cosas no nos dijimos?
La Morte es un homenaje a todos aquellos que ya no están entre nosotros, en especial a los que se fueron antes de tiempo.
El proyecto comenzó en agosto de 2015, durante mi estancia en Atina (Italia), cuando descubrí la antigua fábrica de papel La Cartiera. Este antiguo edificio abandonado, por donde transitan las almas de aquellos que se fueron demasiado pronto, fue el punto de partida para poder desarrollar el proyecto que tenía en mente.
La muerte intimida y no sabemos lo que espera después, pero todos, sin excepción, vamos a enfrentarnos a ella. A veces, cuando es traumática, evitamos hablar, nos escondemos, negamos el dolor y nos olvidamos del difunto. Cada una de estas imágenes son un homenaje , es una ofrenda, dedicada a todos aquellos de los que no hablamos, pero que continúan en nuestra memoria.
Esta serie, dedicada a las muertes repentinas e inesperadas que te sacuden por dentro, está compuesta por siete fotocollages porque siete son los días que, tanto la religión católica como la judía, mandan guardar luto por un difunto.

La Morte is a tribute to all those who are not among us anymore, especially those who left too early.
I started La Morte in August 2015, during my stay in Atina (Italy) when I discover the old paper factory La Cartiera. This old building belongs to the Visocchi family. Some other old buildings are added to complete the series.
We feel scared of death because we do not know what is waiting for us there but all of us will find out one day. Sometimes, when a death is unexpected, we find it difficult to talk about it and we reject the pain and forget the deceased. Each of these images is a tribute to all those who we don´t talk about, but who are still in our mind.
Each photography is a digital photocollage. I decided to complete the series with only seven pictures. I chose this number because it is the number of days of the official Catholic and Jewish mourning.
