Hi, I’m Susana, a visual artist from Spain. I began my Fine Arts studies at the age of 17 at the University of La Laguna in Tenerife and later continued at the University of Barcelona, where I also completed my PhD in Fine Arts. I then continued my education in London at Central Saint Martins and in New York at Parsons School of Design. There, I expanded my knowledge of alternative painting and photography techniques, as well as curation, business and marketing within the art field.

These enriching  experiences have shaped my artistic approach and have driven me to explore new creative possibilities.

In my work, the boundaries between photography and painting are blurred. I use tools from both disciplines to express what draws my attention, what moves me, what concerns me and what I am passionate about.

I like to walk through the city streets with my camera, capturing moments and details that catch my attention. Back in the studio, I work with these images, transforming them into my own reality.

I see the photographic surface as a canvas where the boundaries between photography and painting become blurred. Both disciplines enter into dialogue, coming together to create a visual language of my own.

Each of my works is a visual expression of my inner world and of what sparks my curiosity, moves me or concerns me. My practice reflects on some of the most intimate aspects of existence: life and death, the passage of time, transformation, and the fleeting nature of everything that surrounds us. Through my work, I seek to create an ongoing dialogue between nostalgia and hope.

I like to walk through the city streets with my camera, capturing moments and details that catch my attention. Back in the studio, I work with these images, transforming them into my own reality. I am fascinated by cities and by the rhythm of people moving through their streets, like a constant choreography. My work reflects on the fleeting nature of life — a personal diary shaped by a fascination that has accompanied me since childhood. Time passes quickly, and there is no way to reclaim it. I also explore migration through the lens of the city. Cities are places of constant adaptation, where we search for a balance between our roots and new cultures.
